Our mission is to provide the best quality Physical Security Service, at the best possible prices available in today’s market, and our rangers are carefully selected with a thorough background check done on each and every one. Each Ranger goes through a four hour hand gun safety course and the certified on their side arm of choice. The Ranger is then recertified with his side arm on a regular basis. Each Ranger will goes through other training courses including hand to hand combat training but not limited to. Our Rangers take pride in Protecting you and your interest.
S.P.U.R.S., operational since 2007, provides a security alternative for businesses of all sizes. The corporate philosophy of S.P.U.R.S. is “we take care of our family and they will take care of your business.” The goal is to create a safe environment for the employees and customers/members at all client companies. For its employees, S.P.U.R.S. offers good working conditions, standardized expectations, and a better pay scale than other security firms. For its business clients, S.P.U.R.S. offers a well-trained security force with a clear understanding of the security needs of each individual client. S.P.U.R.S. employees have law enforcement and/or military experience. Criminal background checks have been completed for each employee and work record performance has been validated. Each employee completes a handgun safety course and is weapons certified.
In addition to recognizing a niche for individuals seeking employment in the security field as well as clients seeking a well-trained but affordable security option, the owner of S.P.U.R.S. is aware of the increasing security needs of credit unions. Bank robberies may seem old-fashioned in this age of high-tech heists, but they continue to take a serious, sometimes deadly toll on local communities and businesses, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The owner of S.P.U.R.S. is Kevin R. Kerwood. He has 14 years of experience with security firms across the United States. For the past six years, Mr. Kerwood has been employed as staff accountant for CUSC in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned an associates degree from BessemerStateTechnicalCollege and has completed 2 ½ years of study at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)School of Business.
